Question: how often do I change the oil?

should I change it every 3000 miles or 5000 miles?

change it every 3000 unless you use full synthetic then you can go 5000 to 7000 depending on your driving habbits. The more city driving you do the more it should be changed. Use a good brand name its worth the few extra pennies. I prefer Mobil 1

Owner's Manual will show you two categories of driving conditions. In either case you will be told to maintain oil change intervals that fit into these two categories, following the recommendations of distance driven or three or six months whichever comes first. I can think of product options that offer as much as 25,000 miles or 12 months whichever comes first. Using superior oil & air filters will be good companions for using superior synthetic engine lubricants. If you don't believe the label on the oil bottle, get an oil analysis.
