Diagnose Your Car's Problem

Take this vehicle back to the shop which performed the initial repairs. Explain to the service manager that the master cylinder push rod is out of adjustment. If brake work was not done, it's not likely the mechanic would have even gone near the master cylinder push rod. In this case, ask the service manager to have the vehicle inspected to determine the source of the issue
